A Robin Williams worthy response to Suicide. End the Stigma

Today we saw the truth in life. That even the most joyous entertainers are still human. Rest in Peace Robin, may your soul and body finally rest from the struggles of depression. May your story spread awareness and help to eliminate the stigma.
It can be caused by a series of bad things happening on a bad day. After a series of bad days that can take away your thoughts, your desires and your control. It can also happen in the blink of an eye, after days, months or years of good days. It will happen too quick, faster than you could believe.

I hope that where ever that marvelous man exists, he has found peace. But also that he is strong enough to see that it wasn't his real choice. He could have fought another day, his strength still remained. Just for that one moment; the choice wasn't his There was something bigger, messing with all of the neurons and synapses up there.

It's the darkest times that can be the scariest and there is a blackness that takes over your everything. Far less, do we hear of a manic phase that got someone killed. Depression, the real thing, it tortures, it cuts, it kills. But you can't go back and remake that decision, not easily.

If by some miracle you make it out of the trenches with perspective; I would hazard a guess that your life will be forever changed. Mine was. I lost control. And for a night, with no self-preservation, I was a prisoner to something greater. But I came out a fighter, head strong to always be in charge of my thoughts. Funny thought if you've never fought the good fight of mood disorders. To not be in control of your thoughts? Not being able to trust your own mind. What Madness?!?!

It's a madness that too many have. And far more than should do not have the strength, tools or support to battle their monster.

I am here. There are others. We will fight the good fight together. Connect. Support.

Choose To Live the Good Life, Every day.
